About Dino Chat
What is Dino Chat?
Dino Chat is an AI assistant with a cartoon dinosaur companion. Use it to draft messages, explain information, plan everyday tasks, compare options, and ask questions. Dino is software, not a person.
Who makes it?
Dino Chat is made by Barney Global LLC. Use Support for account or product help and Feedback for suggestions or a bug report.
Who can use Dino Chat?
Dino Chat is intended for adults 18 and older. Read the Terms and Privacy pages before creating an account.
Is everything described here available now?
This help explains the current product design and controls. Paid AI, email delivery, billing, and optional tools depend on service availability. The message in the app is the best guide to whether a feature is available for your account; a help page is not confirmation that a service is enabled.
Can Dino replace professional advice?
No. Dino can help you understand or prepare questions, but it can be wrong. Confirm consequential medical, legal, financial, and safety decisions with a qualified professional.
Accounts and access
How do I get started?
Create an account, verify your email, choose monthly or annual in Billing, and add a card at checkout. When trials are available and you are eligible, a 7-day trial starts after server confirmation. Your selected plan is charged automatically at the exact trial end unless you cancel beforehand. Check Billing for confirmed access and the deadline.
Does visiting as a guest give me free AI?
No. The seven-day trial requires a verified regular account and a card at checkout when trials are available. Guest browsing does not start a trial. AI and photo uploads require confirmed trial or paid access.
Why do I need to verify my email?
Verification confirms control of the email address you registered. It is required before subscribing and uploading photos. Follow the verification email or request another link from your account controls.
What if a verification link expired or the email never arrived?
Check spam, confirm the address you used, and request a fresh link. Verification links expire after 24 hours. If email delivery is unavailable or messages still do not arrive, contact Support rather than repeatedly creating new accounts.
How do I reset or change my password?
Use Forgot password on the login page to request a recovery email; recovery links expire after 30 minutes. When signed in, account settings also let you change your password using your current password. A password change revokes older sessions.
Can I use the same account on another device?
Sign in with the same account to access its saved server-side data. Some preferences and device data remain local to the browser, so not every setting or locally kept item necessarily appears elsewhere. Export before clearing a device if you want to preserve its local information.
How do I export or delete my data?
Use the account tools in Settings to export your account and this device’s Dino data. Account deletion requires your password and an explicit confirmation. Resolve active billing and pending work first; deletion can pause if external cleanup has not completed. Clearing this phone is a separate action from deleting the account.
Subscriptions and AI allowance
What are the subscription prices?
The plans are $16.99 per month or $189.99 per year, in USD, when subscriptions are available. The annual price saves $13.89 compared with twelve monthly payments. Review the final checkout details before paying.
Is there a free trial?
When available, eligible accounts get one 7-day free trial with a card required upfront. It includes $2.00 of AI usage total for the trial, not per day. Cancel before the exact end time shown in Billing to avoid the first charge. Otherwise the selected monthly plan charges $16.99, or the annual plan charges $189.99, and then renews automatically. Creating an account alone does not start a trial.
What does the $8 monthly AI allowance mean?
Paid plans have $8 per monthly window; the trial has $2.00 total across its 7 days. These shared AI-cost allowances are not cash or fixed message counts. Model choice, input, output, search, and supporting AI work affect usage. All available model choices share the same allowance.
Does an annual subscription get the allowance once a year?
No. Both plans receive $8 of AI allowance each month. For annual members, monthly windows follow the original subscription date in UTC, using the last day for shorter months when necessary.
Does unused allowance roll over?
No. Unused trial allowance does not carry into paid access, and unused paid allowance does not carry into the next monthly window.
What happens when the allowance runs out?
AI requests stop when the current allowance cannot cover them. The trial allowance does not refresh daily; wait for confirmed paid access or the next paid monthly window. There is no automatic overage charge. The app can decline a request before zero when estimated cost cannot fit. Exhausting trial allowance does not cancel automatic billing; cancel before the trial deadline if you do not want the subscription.
Why did checkout finish but AI still says I need a subscription?
The server must confirm a valid trial or paid subscription before allowing AI. Return to Billing and refresh its status. A checkout return page alone does not establish access. If checkout appears successful but access remains blocked, contact Support; do not repeatedly purchase another plan.
How do I cancel or update my payment method?
Open Billing and choose Manage payment and cancellation. Cancel a trial before its exact end time to avoid the first selected-plan charge; trial cancellation scheduled for the trial end keeps access until that original deadline and prevents the first charge. Immediate cancellation closes trial access. Paid cancellation can retain access to the paid period’s end, subject to account restrictions. Check that Billing confirms cancellation. Canceling does not delete your account.
How do I ask about a refund or an incorrect charge?
Contact Support with the charge date and a description of the problem. Never send a full card number or security code. A request does not guarantee a refund; it needs review. Refunded or disputed payments can affect paid access.
Models, photos, and tools
Which model should I choose?
Start with Auto. Flash is for everyday writing, questions, and photos; Gemini is an option for research and photos; Pro is an explicit text-only alternative. See the model comparison for the differences. No choice guarantees the most accurate answer.
Does Auto always choose Pro for difficult questions?
No. Auto keeps ordinary and photo work on Flash and routes questions identified as research or current-information tasks to Gemini. Complexity alone does not automatically select Pro.
Does choosing Gemini automatically search Google or open my Google account?
No. A model choice is separate from a live lookup and from account permissions. Search must be available and used for the task. Google Calendar requires a separate explicit connection; Gemini does not automatically read Gmail or Drive.
Can I upload PDFs, Word files, or spreadsheets?
Current attachment uploads support JPEG, PNG, and WebP images up to 5 MB each. Paste text from a document or use a clear photo of the relevant section. Do not assume a generated document feature means that its file format can also be uploaded.
Why will Pro not accept my photo?
Pro is a text-only choice in Dino Chat. Switch to Auto, Flash, or Gemini for image-dependent questions; the app should not discard your attachment just to use Pro.
How much image storage can I use?
Your account can hold up to 100 images and 100 MiB across uploaded and generated images. Upload attempts are limited to 30 per hour. Remove saved pictures or contact Support if storage is full. An interrupted upload can temporarily hold storage until its outcome is resolved.
Can Dino draw pictures or read answers aloud?
Picture generation and read-aloud are optional services. They require working configuration and available paid allowance; their presence in a menu is not a guarantee they are enabled. Voice input also depends on your browser, device, and microphone permission.
Can Dino change my calendar or send messages?
Supported calendar actions require an explicit Google Calendar connection and approval of the proposed change. Review dates, times, and details first. Dino is not an unrestricted task runner. A drafted email or message has not been sent just because Dino wrote it.
How do I improve an unhelpful answer?
Add the missing context, name the result you want, and ask for a focused revision. Try requests such as make it shorter, list assumptions, or compare these specific options. Check important facts and citations instead of treating confidence as proof.
Memory and privacy
Does Dino remember everything automatically?
No. Cross-chat memory is opt-in through Remember helpful details across chats in Settings. Memory keeps selected helpful notes, not a promise to recall every conversation. Saved chat history is separate from the memory setting.
Can I review, change, or forget what Dino remembers?
Use the memory controls to review, edit, or forget notes, or turn memory off in Settings. Turning memory off does not delete existing conversations. Use the relevant chat or account deletion controls for those.
How do I stop proactive suggestions?
Use Less help or turn proactive help off. Writing tips have a separate setting. Dino’s help preferences are different from permissions to connect an account or perform an action.
Who receives the information I send?
The services needed to process a task can receive its relevant content: AI requests go through the Vercel AI Gateway, images are stored through Vercel Blob, and enabled search or voice services receive the information needed for their task. Read the Privacy page for current details. Avoid sending passwords, payment credentials, or unnecessary sensitive information.
Are uploaded photos public?
Photo storage and download routes require account ownership. A link alone is not intended to grant access to another account. That protection does not prevent an authorized model service from receiving a photo you ask it to analyze.
What should I do on a shared device?
Sign out before handing over the device and check that you are in the right account before editing or uploading. Account changes isolate personal app state, but you should still handle downloaded exports, screenshots, and files carefully because those exist outside the app.
Troubleshooting and staying in touch
Why is AI or a tool temporarily unavailable?
Confirmed trial or paid access, remaining allowance, provider availability, or a service pause can block a request. Check Billing and the error message. Optional tools can remain unavailable even when ordinary chat works. Wait before retrying and avoid repeatedly submitting the same paid task.
Why did a photo upload fail?
Confirm verified trial or paid access, an accepted image format, a file no larger than 5 MB, available storage, and a working connection. If you reached the hourly upload limit, wait before retrying. A screenshot or exported image may need to be resized first.
Can I use Dino offline or install it on my phone?
Dino Chat is a web app with an installable app shell on supported browsers. Use your browser’s install or Add to Home Screen option when available. Offline access provides an offline screen; it does not provide offline AI or guarantee access to saved conversations.
How do I report a bug or suggest a feature?
Use Feedback or contact Support. Include what you were doing, the approximate time, device and browser, the error shown, and steps to reproduce it. Remove private chat content, passwords, and payment details from screenshots.
Where can I read updates or join a newsletter?
Visit Product updates for Dino Dispatch information. Newsletter signup and sending are unavailable until the domain and delivery service are ready. Creating a Dino account, sending feedback, or reading the help pages does not enroll you in a newsletter.
How quickly will support reply?
There is no guaranteed response time. The team reads messages as it can. Use a concise description and relevant details so the problem is easier to investigate.
